About Calmplex: Calmplex is the brightest star in the DMV's galaxy of hip-hop. As one of the premier faces of DMV hip-hop, Calmplex has embraced his role as the voice of the streets and takes his listeners on a calmplex journey through the DMV and down into the depths of self-reflection, defeat, success, hate, love, murder, life, all while busting a perverbial nut on conventional hip-hop. He constantly provides new sounds with incredible delivery and wordplay reminiscant of a young T.I. mixed with Drake.
After rapping for years in the studio and perfecting his craft, Calmplex signed his first deal with Ruff Nation Records after winning a talent search contest they sponsored in 2004. He used that platform to connect with the game's elite and has now performed with the industry's best including Lil Jon, E40, Saliva, Jim Jones, Wale, along with every major DMV artists. Plex was nominated for two DMV Music Video Awards for his collaboration with Whitefolkz on their smash-hit "Flyer Than Any Other". The video was nominated for DMV Music Video of the year and Calmplex was nominated as DMV Music Video Producer of the year.
Growing up in the DMV, Calmplex realized there wasn't any real outlets for DMV artists, so he created DMVLIFE.com. It is the number one entertainment website in the DMV. DMVLIFE.com showcases DMV Music, mixtapes, music videos, artists, models, and producers like never before. in 2012, with Calmplex's vision, DMVLIFE.com launched DMVLIFE Radio... a 24/7 DMV Music radio station. Calmplex is also working on his new mixtape scheduled for a Summer 2012 release.
