With his favorite childhood movie being Rocky IV, it’s no wonder Bear Witnez! has a soft spot for the underdog. Born in South East Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland, Bear Witnez! is arguably the most respected Hip Hop artist in the DMV area. With influences like Rakim, Jay-Z and Redman, Bear Witnez! was determined to break into the industry. Performing alongside legendary performers such as Nas, 50 Cent, Juelz Santana, Wale, Timbaland, Gangstarr, and Royce Da 5’9, Bear Witnez! has made a name for himself amongst the hip hop mogul circuit. Not content with holding court solely in the mainstream, Bear Witnez! also caused a stir on the streets as a battle rapper, battling the likes of Memphis Bleek, Mista Cheeks, and Will.I.Am. In late 2001 Bear Witnez! released his independent single “Can I Get That?” to general success, with the single holding on the Billboard charts for sixteen weeks. “Can I Get That?” peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart and also held a spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The single appeared on several mixtapes, including P-Cutta’s “March Madness” and “Street Code Series” to only name a few. With plans to achieve a successful music and film career, Bear Witnez! sets his sights high. He also plans to establish the DMV as a powerhouse and pipeline of talent that can help revitalize the struggling record industry. With these goals, one would think that Bear Witnez! would feel satisfied, even overwhelmed, with his many endeavors.
