A: I am from the DMV, Virginia I have been living in Miami, FL for the past 11 years now. Miami is my second home.
Q: What was your first design?
A: My first real design was back in 2014, it happened by accident.
Q: What drives you to create these dope caricatures?
A: Actually, a lot of the designs created for Happy Brain Clothing is done and collaborated with my long-time best friend & creative director Zekiel. When we created these caricatures we just went off of the aesthetics of everything positive that influences us. We want the people to see what’s in our minds in an art form. Like we created our own little happy world with this Spring 19’ collection like this happy place that we wanted the world to see in every design.
Q: Are you inspired by the anime subculture?
A: Definitely, my favorite anime would have to be BLEACH and Sailor Moon. Zekiel my creative director actually is working on a MANGA that will be released very soon on Amazon. Interesting that you mentioned anime.
Q: What do you see yourself doing next?
A: I cannot really say but just know that you will definitely see and hear about me more. A lot, of projects, are being worked on and I cannot wait to show the world.
Q: Is music a big influence?
A: Yes, music is something that influences me daily to create and come up with unique ideas. My favorite artist & band is from my hometown Virginia based group N.E.R.D NOTHING EVER REALLY DIES along with Pharrell Williams. M.I.A and Lil Uzi Vert and between Bad Bunny and J Balvin they are my best top artist that I listen to daily in regards to the new wave of Hip Hop. I listen to all genres honestly. Major Lazor is like my number one favorite.
Q: What other artist and designers do you admire most?
A: Keith Harring and Miami Based graffiti artist Atomiko is currently my favorite artist right now. I really like what Cynthia Lu, from the Cactus Plant Flea Market Brand, is doing. I think she is a creative genius.
Q: Are you currently working on something new?
A: Yes, I will be releasing a creative agency soon. I have teamed up with some of the best from the DMV and Virginia Beach Tidewater area. That is all I can say at the moment.
Q: Favorite fashion Icon?
A: It will have to be Tomoaki Nagao aka Nigo from A Bathing Ape and Pharrell Williams and Karl Kani.
Q: What other visions or aspirations do you have?
A: Community outreach to the youth is something that really means a lot to me. This summer I have held myself accountable to serve our youth through my non-profit organization HFP.
Q: What advice would you give other creative souls?
A: Never stop creating Follow your heart and passion to always be a pioneer and innovator to push forward the culture.
