Her announcing debut began in Washington, D.C. with an internship. By the time she completed her studies in Journalism at the University of Maryland she knew that broadcasting was her career choice.
Jeannie then returned to her hometown, Washington, D.C. to create her own company, I’m Outta Here Entertainment, Inc. which is responsible for producing her syndicated entertainment report “Jeannie’s Juice”, Kitty Cat Lounge Radio and the PBS documentary “Our Children Are In Pain.” IOH Entertainment in association with Jeannie Jones Meow Media specializes in: Publicity, Event Planning, Radio/TV/Film Production, Music Publishing (Meow Music Mix/ASCAP), Casting and Management.
The Washington Post calls Jeannie “Oprah in Training” because of her many strong points versatility stands out most. Although covering entertainment has been constant in Jeannie’s career, she has proven to be skilled at handling more serious news issues for radio, television and newspapers. She hosted and co-produced the Jones/Gordon Entertainment Report on Radio One’s talk radio network, then she moved on to co-host the “Russ Parr Morning Show” at Radio One. Jeannie continued to rock the Washington, D.C. market with her next stop, hosting the #1 night show, “Love Talk” on WPGC 95.5 (CBS Radio) and guest star on the “Donnie Simpson Morning Show.”
Jeannie’s talents extend to doing voiceovers for the WNBA and spokesperson for several major corporations including IPOD, Coca Cola, Smirnoff, Gillette, Anheuseur-Busch, MAC Cosmetics and L’OREAL Paris. She is also a featured music critic (WTTG-FOX 5 TV, BET, The Washington Post, and XM Satellite), a motivational speaker and community activist through The Jeannie Jones Position To Transition Series. She has received numerous awards including the NAACP Leadership Award for donating her time and resources to such organizations as the American Lung Association, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Children’s National Medical Center, Miss USA Pageant, Urban Journalism Workshop for National Public Radio, The Jeannie Jones Beltway Fitness Tour, Bringing Wellness and Healthcare to Communities for Education and Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Ford Fusion 09’ Champaign and she is a member of the National Association for Female Executives. Jeannie vows to “always encourage youth to be the best they can be” and “elevate tomorrow’s leaders today” through her mentoring program and Grant My Wish Foundation.
