Oh, what a time, what a year! Many DMV artists have been nominated for a Grammy this year!
Nominations for the 60th Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday. The DMV is well represented among the nominations. GoldLink, Shy Glizzy, and Brent Faiyaz were nominated for their smash-hit "Crew" which has been tearing up the clubs and urban airwaves. Competition is fierce, Jay-Z‘s “Family Feud” (ft. Beyoncé) and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Loyalty” (ft. Rihanna) are also up for the award, but having GoldLink’s name among rap’s most elite is a pretty dope thing to see.
MD native Logic is up for two Grammy Awards this year, including “Song of the Year” and "Music Video of the Year" for his song “1-800-273-8255" (ft. Alessia Cara and Khalid).
Virginia Producer Benny Blanco is also nominated for "Song of the Year" for his work on the hit song "Issues.
