The principal of an Annandale, Va., middle school and an administrative employee of a Falls Church, Va., high school are accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from Fairfax County Public Schools.
Sonya Swansbrough, 46, principal at Poe Middle School and Bethany Speed, 38, administrative employee at Jeb Stuart High School are accused of falsifying timesheets for personal financial gain, according to Fairfax County Police.
An investigation indicated the crimes may have begun as early as May 2010, and officers say more than $100,000 may have been embezzled by the women.
Swansbrough's 20-year-old son, Brenton Rusnak, is facing charged of receiving stolen property in connection with the case.
