However, for Listen Vision Recording Studio's own under 21 wunderkind Sergio Cortez, the words may in fact be true. The former Listen Vision intern turned producer/engineer has both a family based largely from the west coast and roots in Northern Virginia, influences from both areas allowing him to deliver sounds that meet any urban expectation. From low-key, jazzy instrumentals to 808 and synth laden trap rap fare, the young producer has the uncanny ability to take top 40 urban styles and expand them with his surprisingly voluminous imagination. As a producer at DC's oldest and largest recording studio, Cortez has already produced hundreds of beats for a plethora of local and national independent emcees.
