InnerloopUncut.comAbout Sketch: For over a decade, Sketch has been honing his skills as a songwriter. At the young age of 15, Sketch began battling, writing songs and wowing audiences every time he touched a mic. By the age of 16, he was recording in professional studios and working with experienced producers/engineers throughout the DMV. Known throughout the area as a ferocious lyricist, Sketch showed his incredible talent for songwriting as he recorded the albums Game Over and Wild Irish Rose in 2000 and 2001. Wild Irish Rose received critical acclaim in one of hip-hop’s top publications, Insomniac Magazine (Issue 19).
Sketch has gone on to open for stars such as Nas, Raekwon, Jadakiss & D-Block, Lupe Fiasco,
Wale, Nipsey Hussle, Clipse and 9th Wonder. Sketch has been known for slaying the competition at just about every emcee battle he has entered. After winning a very competitive battle at Club Datalus in DC in 2004, Sketch received an invitation to battle live on air for the WPGC 95.5 Friday Night Mic Fights. Sketch won week after week and was on the show eight consecutive weeks. Sketch went on to release a mixtape titled “60 Minutes” in 2004, which received amazing reviews and feedback from the fans as well as media. Sketch is an artist that has the rare ability to capture the underground and mainstream hip-hop audiences alike.
Sketch has done tracks with well known names such as Nipsey Hussle, Roc Marciano, Steele of Smif-N-Wesson, Trife da God, Illa Ghee, Slaine, Nickelus F, Reef the Lost Cause, !llmind and DJ IDEE. 2007 marked Sketch’s biggest accomplishment to date as he was crowned The Source Magazines’ January 2007 Unsigned Hype. Also in 07’, Sketch dropped an album titled “ill” that solidified his name in the DMV Hip-Hop circuit as a top contender. Sketch is currently finalizing an upcoming album titled “Virginia Tec-9” produced by DC production super group Guns-N-Butter (
J-Scrilla and Chops).
