Even though the DMV if full of Orioles and Nationals fans... we can all still appreciate the greatness and class Derek Jeter has brought to the game of baseball throughout his career.
He closed the Bronx chapter of his career with a walk-off win for the Yankees over the Orioles Thursday night.
An elated Jeter jumped and raised both arms between first and second.
Yankees players rushed out to engulf him as former teammates such as Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, Andy Pettitte and Tino Martinez and Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre lined up near the New York dugout, waiting to greet him. Jeter also took a moment to himself on the field.
