SunniAndTheCity.comAbout Sunni: Sunni is a radio host at Washington D.C’s Powerhouse; WPGC 95.5. Previously, Sunni has graced the airways on Power 96 in Miami, FM 98 WJLB and Channel 95.5 in Detroit. As a Bosnian refugee who relocated to the United States in 1997, Sunni taught herself to speak English in less than six months. She also became the first woman from her native country of Bosnia to have her own show on an urban radio station, making her also one of the youngest radio personalities in Detroit at the age of 21.
Interviewing celebrities and attending fabulous events is just another day in a life of a radio host, but Sunni always finds the time for charity work. She has been involved with U.S. Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, NBA/WNBA Read To Achieve Programs, just to name a few. As a newcomer onto the Washington D.C social scene, Sunni is looking forward to being involved with many charity organizations and programs that will benefit the DC youth. But her long-time wish has always been to visit her native country, as she hasn’t been back since departing in 1997, and help rebuild it.
In her spare time, Sunni loves to do outdoors activities such as hiking and camping with her friends. As a self-proclaimed Tom Boy In Heels, Sunni enjoys baseball and football games as much as she loves shopping for a hot pair of heels in Georgetown. Her twitter and social networks’ following looks to her as an ambassador for all things fabulous in fashion, entertainment and DC social scene. As a well balanced young woman with a super sweet bubbly personality, watch for Sunni as she takes over the DC social scene this summer as a host of some of your favorite events.
