About Video: During the month of April, Maybach Music Group Artist Wale made the trip back to DC to lend his celebrity to the reopening celebration of the famed Howard Theatre. For over 30 years, the historic facility in downtown Washington DC has been closed. $29 million was invested in the renovation of the prized landmark that launched the careers of Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, and other music greats. Following in that legacy, Wale took the Theatre’s stage in front of a large crowd of music and theatre lovers. Wale left the city with his blessing, but not before he visited House Studio DC. After checking out the facility and laying down some vocals Wale was impressed with House’s capabilities in serving the artist’s needs. We thank Wale for his contributions to music and his dedication to the support of arts promotion in the Washington DC area. His actions show the essence of a true artist: helping to build his community, involving his art in the relevance of the times, and making his mark where it’s most needed.
