About DJ Rob: DJ Rob, also known as “Mista D.M.V.” is a native of the DMV area. Influenced by his two older brothers’ music aspirations, Rob began DJing in 2002. In just a few years, Rob’s accomplishments undoubtedly has him on the verge of becoming the next household name in DJs. As the pioneer DJ of Target Squad Records, Rob is carving out a name and a career all for himself.
DJ Rob has built his reputation with mixtape CDs with collaborations with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. With over 40 CD releases, his resume speaks for itself as he has worked with heavyweights such as Lil' Wayne, 50 Cent, Akon, T-Pain, and Oscar Award winners Three 6 Mafia. Other artists filling out his resume include DJ Khaled, Dem Franchise Boyz, JadaKiss, Rick Ross, Trey Songs, DJ Drama, Yung Joc, 8 Ball & MJG, Mike Jones, Lil' Scrappy, Mya, Slim Thug, Lil' Flip, Gorilla Zoe, Paul Wall, Lil' Wyte, Kinfolk Kia Shine, Frayser Boy, Project Pat, Ron Artest, Red Café, Nore, Grafh, & Memphis Bleek. In the past three years, DJ Rob has now become Mr. Recognizable due to his notable media attention. Already well known to many in the DMV, most recently he’s been recognized in Vibe magazine featuring 50 Cent for his mixtape release “Throw Ya Sets Up Volume 4” with DJ Drama and Lil' Wyte. At the time of its release, this edition was the most downloaded mixtape on the net. Also, Rob was recognized in the Washington, DC section of Ozone Magazine featuring DJ Drama, which shows he still gets much love from his hometown. Other publications include Streetz, White Label, and Hustlenomics magazine. He is the official DJ for Owners Illustrated magazine, plus featured in their two year anniversary issue featuring Lil' Wayne. With an appearance on the highly publicized MTV’s Sucker-Free Countdown and the completion of his first international tour this past year (Africa) DJ Rob is truly on his grind.
DJ Rob is currently working hard in the studio on his highly anticipated self-titled debut album “MISTA DMV”. The DMV is where DJ Rob has been holding it down for the past few years and doing it well. Already platinum in the streets, he’s taking his career to another level with his debut album. The album will feature all original material and includes major and local recording artists. Whether it’s rockin’ the 1s and 2s internationally or locally, his show is truly remarkable as he quotes, “When I DJ, it’s like I’m painting a picture, and the crowd is like my canvas!”
