About Sidney "DCSuperSid" Thomas: Sidney "DCSuperSid" Thomas is a writer / photographer and the founder of Real News Magazine. Real News Magazine was created to give exposure to DMV independent artists. Mr. Thomas has also published articles and photographs in many other periodicals including The Examiner, Kapital Magazine, and the nationally distributed Ozone Magazine.
In 2010, Mr. Thomas published Diamonds In The Raw, a book about the history of the Washington, DC hip-hop movement. Diamonds was critically acclaimed in reviews by The Washington Post, The Gazette, The DC City Paper, and The Source (a national hip-hop magazine). Diamonds has also been accepted by the Prince George's County, District of Columbia, and the University of Maryland library systems.
DCSuperSid is currently exhibiting his photographs of DMV hip-hop rappers in several local galleries.
